The Rev. Dr. Paul J. Rennick, C.S.B.
Distinguished Speaker Series on Spirituality and Well Being
The term spirituality can have a great confusion of meanings surrounding it. Some people seem to think that spirituality refers to something rarified and esoteric, and that spirituality is very different from, and even opposed to, other aspects of our humanity and biological reality. This I think is totally misguided. My approach to spirituality is captured in the words of St. Iranaeus, a Christian martyr of the second century who said: The glory of God is the human person fully alive. Spirituality is about a fullness of life and how that fullness can be achieved. Much more can be said about spirituality but I thought this caveat needed to be stated.
Rev. Dr. Paul J. Rennick, CSB.
